Youth donates time and proceeds from his pop-up pencil shop, Pencil River, to North Hastings Hospital.

Colton McCaskie, a young resident of North Hastings dedicated 4 days from his summer holidays to raise support for his local hospital. To a child, 4 days can feel like a lot of time during those precious summer holidays from school. Colton sold pencils, erasers and water in front of McCaskie’s in Bancroft (special thanks to his uncle, Mike McCaskie, for allowing him to set up in front of the store). He made enough money to support his two favourite charities (Colton got the idea from one of his favourite television shows); North Hastings Fund Development Committee is very happy to be one of those chosen charities. Bancroft Food Bank was the other appreciative recipient.

Colton knows first hand how important it is to have a well equipped hospital as his family has needed to use of the hospital. North Hastings Hospital received a total of $160 from Colton McCaskie, which will go towards the current equipment need.
