North Hastings Hospital Fund Development Committee

Objectives:

The North Hastings Hospital Fund Development Committee, a Committee of the Belleville General Hospital Foundation, is accountable to the donors of Quinte Health North Hastings Hospital and accountable for our mission to support an integrated health care system that includes primary care at North Hastings Hospital and secondary and tertiary care through Quinte Health.

Responsibilities:

  • To champion and facilitate the raising of funds for Quinte Health North Hastings and the Quinte Health system, with a commitment to ensure needed resources that keep exceptional health care close to home.

  • To strengthen the partnership between the hospital and the North Hastings Community.

  • To encourage and participate in other fundraising activities (i.e. special events, in memoriam, direct mailings, donor recognition, updating donors wall, etc.)

  • To receive all donations and distribute these funds as needed to the Quinte Health North Hastings Hospital and the dialysis clinic ensuring all funds received are directed to the appropriate fund or Quinte Health site in accordance to the Donor’s wishes.

Meet Our Team

  • Kim Bishop, Chair

    Kim Bishop

    Chair

    Kim has been a dedicated member of North Hastings Hospital Fund Development Committee for 19 years. Raised in a family that promoted “giving back” it has been her mission to do just that, particularly in playing a part in providing quality health care as close to home as possible. A favourite quote that Kim strives to live by is, “Imagine it’s you.” When reminded of that, she believes, “it’s easy to help those in need.”

  • Tom Malloy

    Treasurer

    Tom is a retired Dean for the School of Skills Training, Access, Continuing Education & Satellite Services at Loyalist College in Belleville and Bancroft, and has been a member of North Hastings Hospital Fund Development Committee for seven years.

    Tom was born and raised in Bancroft and spent much of his career with Loyalist College expanding academic and employment programs at the Bancroft Campus. Tom has also served as a Board Member for North Hastings Community Care and is an active volunteer with North Hastings District Hospital Auxiliary.

  • Debbie Speck

    Donor Recognition

    Debbie Speck is a retired teacher and principal. A past President of the North Hastings and District Hospital Auxiliary, she has been a member of the North Hastings Hospital Fund Development Committee for a number of years.

  • Tammy Davis, RN BScN

    QHC North Hastings Hospital Site Lead & Manager Patient Services

    Tammy grew up just north of Bancroft on Papineau Lake. She has been a Registered Nurse and Manager for 36 years, and has worked the last 13 years as the Leader of North Hastings Hospital.

    As the Manager and local face of the North Hastings site of Quinte Health, Tammy couldn't be more proud of the hospital team and the Fund Development Committee with their goals and focus of advocating for, and providing exceptional service and care for, their community.

  • David MacLeod

    Past Chair, NH Auxiliary

    After a career as elementary teacher/principal for 36 years in North Hastings, David was ready to help pay back to the community.

    He became involved with the North Hastings District Hospital Auxiliary after his wife, Arlene, had been a member and enjoyed serving on the executive. He served as Treasurer for two years and later President. Now as Past President, he represents the Auxiliary on the North Hastings Hospital Fund Development Committee.

  • Sharon Oram

    Public Member

    Sharon has lived in the North Hastings community since 1984, and is honoured to volunteer with the North Hastings Hospital Fund Development Committee.

    “Our hospital is vital to our growing community and my wish is to help in some small way: enhancing the professional care that we all receive.”

  • Catherine (Cathy) Levia

    Part Time Staff Support

    Cathy joined the Hospital Fund Development Committee in 2019 to manage Donor gifts. As a recently retired Quinte Health Registered Nurse who had seen firsthand her community's critical health care needs, she was happy to be able to contribute to another side of health care committed to covering the costs of those needs. Cathy's deep dedication to health care continues as she has recently been re-instated as an RN to assist as a Covid-19 vaccinator/tester. Outside of supporting her health-care community, she keeps busy as a Mom, Grandma, golfer, curler, pickleballer, flower gardener and husband-manager.
